Eminence Dance Academy (EDA) prides itself on producing great technical dancers and exceptional performers. Coaching dance students to "awaken your full potential".

EDA provides classes in 'Theatre Dance' (ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, acro, contemporary, commercial & musical theatre). The home base for all dance classes is Westlands: Entertainment Venue & Sports Centre (BA20 2DD) in the heart of Yeovil, Somerset. More details on our venue can be found here.

Eminence Dance Academy was opened in 2021 by Principal Miss Emilie Woan. The Academy follows a clear code of conduct set out by Miss Emilie. Teaching dance as a discipline, in a positive and encouraging environment. Enabling every dance experience to be inspiring and every student to shine bright.

Independent dance lessons start from 3 years old, and continues up to adults and senior citizens too. Find out about the full range of classes here.

We accept once-a-week recreational dancers, for those who enjoy the joy of dance and movement. However, Eminence Dance Academy has been created to help enhance the training for those looking to reach an advanced level of dance, across all genres. Whether or not dancers take dance on as a future career, the life skills learnt from high achieving dancers is unmatched. For those who are looking to work professionally in theatre, gaining places at vocational dance colleges is extremely competitive and requires a level of professionalism, dedication and commitment, something we like to install in our dancers from day one. Advanced training involves dancers attending multiple classes, 3-5 days a week, including cross training with athletic sports development.

The academy has exciting performance opportunities, entering competitions & dance festivals with the Eminence Performance Squads, as well as an annual showcase for all dancers. OFQUAL accredited dance examinations are provided for those who wish to take them. Our dance classes are fine tuned and build on technical ability across a variety of styles. "At EDA our ethos is to nurture and encourage each individual to reach their full potential. We supply the training helping to bridge the gap between amateur and professional.

Finding the right fit for your young dancer is important. Human connection between dancer and dance teacher is essential, but also meeting the right expectations in qualifications and teaching methods from a coach. The ability to ignite passion within each student alongside up-to-date knowledge of safe dance practice is paramount in this ever evolving world of biomechanics, something I often found missing as a young student. Choose your dance school carefully, it is an investment, learning the correct foundations from the start is priceless.

The steps taken in the studio will progress on to steps that will lead them through life. After my personal life journey through the world of dance, both as a teacher, professional and a student I have gained a lot to pass on. I am invested in supporting the next generation of dancers to be successful. Allowing their love for movement to carry on into adulthood and hopefully a career."
